The Yakima
Folklife Festival is held on the second full weekend in July (25 years
old in 2007). This festival has craft and food vendors, extensive
childrens activities, a mini Medieval Festival (hosted
by the Society for Creative Anachronism), a Saturday night
Contradance, and music & dance performances on 5 outdoor
stages, the museums Great Hall stage, and evening concerts
at Yakima Sports Center, Bob's Keg & Cork, The Depot, Santiago's, Greystone, Buhrmaster Bakery, The Seasons Performance Hall, and Massett Winery. The festival is held in the Yakima Valley Museum
and adjacent Franklin Park and all events are free to the
public. There are over 60 performance acts and the audience
is around 10,000 (for the entire festival).
